This community event was held to explore the future of urban development in the context of Web3 and crypto cities.
The session featured Nelson from Infinita City as a special guest, who shared insights on how blockchain technology can shape the governance, infrastructure, and economy of future cities.
The event attracted a diverse group of attendees interested in decentralized technologies, with a full house despite limited seating. Admission was free, fostering an open and inclusive atmosphere for discussion and networking.
On a cool note, Nelson was one of the founders in Ethereum Tegucigalpa and then moved on to other Web 3 projects.

On Thursday, May 22, we joined the global celebration of the Global Pizza Party for the second year in a row. We gathered at Vita Restaurant with over 25 members of the community for an evening of connection and fun.
The highlight of the night was a custom-designed “Bitcoin Pizza Day” bingo, led by digital artist Argel. Winners took home exclusive merch and crypto prizes, thanks to support from Pizza DAO, Coincaex, La Bitcoinera, and Waves TV.
To mark the occasion, we also distributed a special POAP designed by Denis, an active community member—one of over 47 global communities celebrating this iconic date together.

We had our first community meeting devoted exclusively Eth Jaguar Hackathon, going over the general aspects of the events and most importantly how any and all members of the community can participate. As hackers, mentors, event volunteers, or speakers.
A space were long time members and new comers met for some brainstorming & clearing up any doubts about our community’s highlight event for this year. We also discussed, how this hackathon can pave the way for our community to prep for Eth Latam & Devconnect.

The bootcamp was focused on the ongoing generational shift in cryptography, from special-purpose cryptographic tools to programmable cryptography. This emerging paradigm allows for general-purpose computation within cryptographic protocols, enabling more versatile and powerful applications.

Participants explored modern cryptographic primitives such as ZK-SNARKs, Multi-Party Computation (MPC), and Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE). They also learned to program with these technologies using domain-specific languages like Noir and Circom.
Hands-on sessions included:
Generating zero-knowledge proofs to verify AI model outputs without revealing private data or the model itself
Developing privacy-focused applications using the Aztec protocol
While prior cryptographic knowledge wasn’t required, attendees needed programming experience to fully engage with the material. The recording of the talks can be seen here

We hosted a live discussion on a major proposal by Vitalik Buterin to transition the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) to RISC-V, a move aimed at making Ethereum more ZK-friendly (“ZK-ifying it”).
The conversation featured speakers @crisgarner, @brechy_, and @FilosofiaCodigo, who unpacked the technical and ecosystem-wide implications of the proposal. Topics included the potential benefits of using a standard instruction set like RISC-V, improved prover efficiency for zero-knowledge protocols, and what this change could mean for developers and node operators. This space was created to discuss Pectra, the upcoming Ethereum network upgrade.
The conversation was led by speakers @crisgarner, @FilosofiaCodigo, and @0xekami, who broke down what Pectra includes, the technical changes it introduces, and why it matters for the future of the protocol.
Key topics included:
Improvements to staking UX
Proposed changes to the EVM
Impacts on rollups and wallet infrastructure

29 tuned update catch up, update & brainstorm about community activities, individual projects & interesting stuff going on in the ecosystem. Eth Jaguar, Eth Latam & Devconnect were hot topics.
On May 9, we joined The Blockchain Club at their stand in the UNITEC cafeteria. The table was packed with cool merch and attracted attention from professors, program coordinators, and students, all curious to learn more about the Club and Ethereum Tegucigalpa.

Fun fact: The Blockchain Club was born from the students’ excitement for Web3 and was made possible thanks to funding from the Trust Public Goods Round.

On Tuesday, June 10, we hosted Creative Talks, a meetup organized by Ethereum Tegucigalpa and The Blockchain Club at UNITEC.
Our special guest, LaCarolina, shared her journey in design and Web3, along with valuable tips on applying for scholarships to attend global events. She emphasized the importance of starting by contributing to communities, often through volunteering. We also talked about opportunities like attending Devconnect and joining the upcoming ETH Jaguar hackathon.
The evening wrapped up with snacks, POAPs, and a fun raffle where one lucky attendee won an exclusive Blockchain Club tote bag.

On July 9, we officially launched the open call for ETH Jaguar: Build & Hack, the first-ever blockchain hackathon in Tegucigalpa, organized in collaboration with UNITEC.
This initiative is the result of years of ongoing collaboration with UNITEC. For this edition, we worked closely with the UNITEC Hub and the Faculty of Engineering, holding five planning meetings, both in-person and online, to coordinate logistics and prepare activities aimed at welcoming both students and external participants.
In the next quarter, we’ll report on the bootcamps, meetups, and the outcomes of the hackathon, which will take place at the UNITEC Sports Complex from August 29–31.
Additionally, we’re partnering with the Faculty of Engineering to provide mentorship and guidance for blockchain-related senior graduation projects. Website and registration can be found here: https://hack.ethereumtgu.com/
In collaboration with the National Autonomous University of Honduras (UNAH), our strategy has focused on formalizing the partnership through the Center of Excellence for Education in Information Technologies (CEETI).
Following a series of meetings with the Dean and coordination team of the Faculty of Engineering, as well as CEETI leadership, the UNAH Blockchain Club was officially launched on June 27th. The club is an open space for the university community to explore blockchain technology through academic activities like open courses, research and interdisciplinary projects.
We participated in the launch as a community partner, where we also introduced the upcoming hackathon co-organized with UNITEC, inviting students to get involved and start building.

Over the past few months, we’ve deepened our involvement in governance by officially registering as a delegate in the Optimism Collective. We’ve spent over 48 hours participating in governance calls across both the Scroll DAO and Optimism, contributing to discussions, sharing feedback, and helping shape key decisions. Within the Scroll DAO, we voted in favor of eight proposals, supporting initiatives that align with our values of open collaboration and ecosystem growth. On the Optimism side, we actively engaged in conversations around six proposed protocol upgrades, offering input to help refine and improve the collective’s direction.
In the coming weeks, we’ll be doubling down on preparations for the upcoming ETH Jaguar Hackathon, finalizing logistics, supporting participants, and organizing X Spaces to build momentum. Alongside the hackathon, we’re also preparing a conference-style program with talks, panels, and workshops to enrich the experience.
We’ll be hosting a node operator workshop, celebrating Ethereum’s 10-year anniversary, and continuing to expand our participation in on-chain governance through active engagement and voting across key DAOs, and start preparing for the upcoming Devconnect.
